I made this soap using whole eggs that came from free range chickens.
The chickens in question can be seen roaming around my landlords
spacious farmland pecking happily at the ground.
I added the
yokes to my vegetable oils ( coconut, olive oil, and soybean oil) and
the whites to my lye solution and made a hot processed soap. I then
hand-milled the soap a day later with grapeseed oil, pureed strawberries
(for the alpha-hydroxy acids which lend a mild exfoliating aspect),
cream, and beeswax. I also added a good dose dragon's blood powder.
I
added essential oils of myrrh, rosewood, grapefruit and a little bit of
clove and decorated the top with pink cochous, juniper berries and
pieces if frankincense resin . The scent is very heavy on the dragons
blood with the other oils mildly accenting it.
They weight approximately 70 grams.
Since this is an all natural soap, you can even use it to wash your hair - I know I do! Egg soap is especially awesome for this.
Natural soap is more beneficial than your typical store bought soap
because its retains its glycerin and other beneficial properties. Egg
soap produces some the richest lather you will ever experience and makes
skin silky smooth.
Grapeseed oil is high in antioxidants which
helps to keep free radicals from damaging skin. "The flavanoids
contained in grapeseed oil can inhibit allergic reactions, and may help
with fighting skin problems such as eczema or psoriasis. It also
penetrates the skin quickly and has almost no odor, and is therefore
usually non-irritating."
Beeswax is anti-inflammatory,
antibacterial & antiviral making it an excellent skin healer.
beeswax is not only an emollient but humectant as well, "drawing
moisture to the skin and sealing it in". It also creates a protective
barrier on the skin.
